Mike: Hey guys. Guess what? Im planning to take professor MMM this sem for Subject AAA. What do you think?
Sarah: Nice choice. I heard he gives easy A's and you dont have to work hard in his class. He doesnt check attendance, plus walking into his class 30 mins after the bell doesnt merit a late.
Arnold: Yeap. Kinuha ko rin siya last sem. Almost half the class got an A. Plus wala siya masyado requirements. Pero boring nga lang. You end up sleeping sometimes in his class.
Mike: That's okay. I don't like the subject anyway. It's a core subject. I don't really mind. Passing it will be fine. Hey Mark! Sino kukunin mo for subject AAA?
Mark: Me? Im getting professor PPP.
Sarah: Wait lang? Hindi ba mahirap na teacher siya? I heard he gives surprise quizzes every week.
Mike: Oo nga. And he's the one who gives a lot of readings. Plus, you cant really get away with sleeping in that class. Mark, sure ka ba? I mean your grades last sem were average lang naman... around 2.5-ish. Baka mahila pa niyan grades mo.
Mark: Well, professor PPP is the best teacher for subject AAA. His reputation for being the best teacher in that subject is almost legendary.
Arnold: Well, his "strictness" is also legendary. And his propensity for having a high standard of grading.
Mark: Frankly, i dont see your point.

Guys, dont you see? We are studying in ateneo! We are paying nearly 50,000 every semester, in fees, in books, in supplies. Our families are spending so much for this education. And we chose this school! We chose to be in ateneo. I chose to be here. And you know why? Yeah, partly because of the basketball team, partly because of the nice campus, but mainly because i know i'm getting the best education i can get in this school. What makes ateneo ateneo? For me, its the teachers. Its those "terror" teachers who are actually brilliant teachers given a bad image. Ateneo is ateneo because Padre Ferriols is here. Because Dacanay teaches theology of marriage with passion and brilliance. Because we have fullbright scholars, past valedictorians, great historians, outstanding psychologists, sociologists, brilliant scientists -- all geniuses, as some of our teachers. Sadly, not all teachers in ateneo are as great as these, or have this potential. But it saddens me that we all run to fill the mediocre teachers first. that we chose the easiest ones first. and we make these great teachers our very last option. it's a betrayal of why we're here. Kung kukuha na rin lang tayo ng mediocre na teacher, eh di sana sa DLSU na lang tayo nag-aral? or maybe Benilde? or maybe another university? Hindi ba ninyo nakikita? Sayang! Sayang na sayang na may pagkakataon na maging guro natin itong mga kinikilalang tanyag na guro at mag-iisip sa panahon natin. Binigyan tayo ng oportunidad na makapasok sa klase ng mga gurong tulad nito. At ano? Iiwasan natin? How ironic. May natutunan ako. May nadadala ako pagkatapos ng klase, pagkatapos ng semestre. Yun yung pinunta ko dito sa ateneo. Marami pa akong pinunta dito, pero yun talaga yung pinaka-dahilan.
